Youthful Optimism

 

She starts each day saying

“today is going to be a great day”.

She’s seven years old.

I smile and wonder

how long it will be before she realizes

that not every day is going to be a great day

but for now I do what I can to encourage her.

    Life is rife with possibilities, it is only our jaded cynicism
    that prevents us from seeing them. Oh, that we could always view the world through the eyes of a child!
    You are so very lucky. You get to see through your grandchildren's eyes frequently if not daily, and that alone should bring some peace to even the heaviest of days. Keep encouraging!
